PROSPECT SPOTLIGHT: Alassane Amadou (Class of 2022)

Updated: Aug 19, 2020

6'9" F Alasanne Amadou (Bishop McDevitt)

Amadou played a reserved role for Bishop McDevitt (Wyncote, PA) last year. This year, he will be asked to step up and be a leader for the Bishop McDevitt program. Amadou showed flashes of greatness last season as his 4th quarter efforts helped take down National Powerhouse "Roman Catholic" to end the regular season. Amadou plays the role of a “Stretch 4.” Amadou can drive, shoot, and protect the rim.

I recently had a chance to speak to Amadou about his upcoming expectations for the season and recruiting;

Interview Script w/ Alassane Amadou

"I: What are your expectations for the upcoming season at Bishop McDevitt?

Amadou: I think we are going to surprise a lot of people this season. I know we lost 6 seniors but I'm sure we will have great season being the underdogs again.

I: How would you describe your game/skillset?

Amadou: I can protect the paint and guard the perimeter on defense. On offense, I can catch and shoot to make the defense space out but, I can also drive and finish above the rim.

I: How has transferring from Quakertown to Bishop McDevitt help you as far as development, recruiting, and academics?

Amadou: Transferring was the best decision of my life. I feel that I have come very far as it pertains to my recruitment and development but I know I have so much more work to do and more potential to unlock. Academically, I did better this year and will continue to do so."
